The Wolverhampton City Council provides a range of leisure services through several leisure and recreation centers located across Wolverhampton. Walking the way to health, the initiative aims to improve the health and fitness of more than a million people, especially those who do little exercise or who live in areas of poor health. A purposeful, brisk walk undertaken on a regular basis and it can include any walk which is specifically designed and carried out for the purpose of improving an individual’s health. Organised walks can have a health impact on individuals by providing an opportunity to socialise and a distraction from everyday stresses.
