The dieticians give expert practical advice to people with diabetes who require more in depth dietary information or who need help in making the dietary changes required for optimal diabetes control. Referrals are accepted from all other health professionals. In conjunction with the community food advisors from the Food Health Team dieticians run group weight management courses for people with medical problems.

The team, which is a part of Nutrition and Dietetics Services, help people with practical issues concerning cooking, eating and shopping. Activities are tailored to individual or group needs. Examples include cook and taste sessions, discussions around food issues and shopping trip to a local supermarket to help with budgeting. Community food advisors also run practical cooking sessions and increase awareness of healthy eating across Wolverhampton.
